Professor Zeggert has been producing Fine Art Illustration and Oil Paintings for approximately two decades, resulting in various works being part of private and public collections, internationally.
Zeggert completed his graduate work at Syracuse University and was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study with Bob Dacey and Burton Silverman.
In addition to his graduate work, Zeggert received degrees in both Commercial Art and Design. For nearly 15 years, as a newsroom artist and editor in the publishing industry, David received awards and recognition from organizations such as the Creative Quarterly, Associated Press, Syracuse Press Club and Gannett News Service. Clients include OC investment, Brundage Publishing, Pinnacle and Eagle Publications to name a few. In addition, David received a gold medal from the Philadelphia Sketch Club and as the result of a jury selection his portrait of Elon Musk was included in the Society of Illustrators Los Angeles and The Salmagundi Club, New York, NY.
David’s work is accomplished and painterly, based in traditional techniques, it depicts both straight forward and imaginative concepts that connect. He is an Illustrator, Classical Portrait Artist and Professor of Art at an upstate New York college.
David’s primary consideration as an artist is to create illustrations and paintings inspired and derived from the investigation of people and subjects, simultaneously never losing sight of the goal to create an image that exists as a painted image with intrigue.
