Student Showcases April 14 - June 1
Our Design Selves: A 48 Hour Self Portrait Study of Who We Are and What Inspires Us
Exhibit on view April 14 - April 18, 2025.
About the show
COM 320 Information Design students were given 48 hours to create a self portrait montage that explored their identity as a designer. Students were asked what words or statements identify their design values or beliefs and if there was a designer or design movement that influences their work. They were instructed to use both primary/original materials and secondary/found materials to assemble a square composition that revealed the inspiration behind their "design self". These resulting twenty vignettes will be exhibited from April 14 to April 18, 2025 at SUNY Poly's Gannett Gallery.

Hack A Social Problem: Creative Proposals for Change
Exhibit on view April 21 - April 25, 2025
Reception: Wednesday April 23, 12:00-2:00pm
About the show
Members of the IDS 220 Creativity and Culture class present ideas to expand the accessibility of learning, communications, and artistic tools and technologies, based on the semester's research, discussions, and workshopping. Some of our ideas are pretotypes (early stage iterations) and others are meant to be prototypes (more solidified ideas). For all, we welcome your engagement, interaction, and critique. Our goal is to contribute to the continuing development of aesthetic concepts, communications, devices, services, and experiences that are more accessible — and at their best more enjoyable — for more people to engage with than before.

Fluidity in motion : A visual journey through dynamic flows
Exhibit on view April 28 - May 2, 2025
Reception: Tuesday April 29, 12:00-1:30pm
About the show
Fluid dynamics is an incredibly complex and fascinating area of study, but you can often learn something about a fluid by watching it. This exhibit will revolve around student submissions when asked to capture everyday fluid mechanics around them. Students from ME 320 (Fluid Mechanics), junior-level engineering class were challenged to take pictures or videos of fluids around them while finding a way to demonstrate established flow phenomena. This exhibit is aimed at a gentle introduction to fluid dynamics via art and observation. We hope this makes you take time to notice all the flow visualization around you every day!
